Mandatory Documents for All e-Visa Applications

Regardless of the visa type you are applying for, every applicant must upload the following:

📌 Passport Requirements

  • A clear scanned copy of the passport’s biographical page showing:

    • Full name

    • Date of birth

    • Nationality

    • Passport number

    • Expiry date

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in India.

  • Must have at least two blank pages available for immigration stamping.

📸 Photograph Requirements

  • A recent, color passport-style photo.

  • Plain light-colored or white background.

  • Face fully visible, no shadows, no headwear (unless for religious reasons).

  • File formats accepted: JPEG or PNG.

📧 Email & Payment

  • A valid email address — your approved e-Visa will be sent here.

  • A credit/debit card or other acceptable payment method to pay visa processing fees.

Documents by Visa Type

e-Tourist Visa

To apply for an India Tourist e-Visa, you must upload:

  •  Scanned passport bio page
  •  Recent passport-style photograph

e-Business Visa

For visitors traveling for business meetings, conferences, trade, and related purposes, the following documents are required:

  • Scanned passport bio page
  • Recent passport-style photograph
  • Business card or visiting card (showing your name and company)
  • Optional invitation letter from the Indian company or business partner — useful for some business purposes.

e-Medical Visa

Medical visitors must upload these:

  • Scanned passport bio page
  • Recent passport-style photo
  • Medical letter from an Indian hospital or recognized medical center
  • Treatment details or appointment confirmation from the hospital

e-Medical Attendant Visa

If you are accompanying a medical visa holder, you need:

  • Scanned passport bio page
  • Recent passport-style photo
  • A copy of the e-Visa number of the patient (medical visa holder)
  • Reference to the medical treatment letter issued for the patient

e-Conference Visa

For attending official conferences, seminars, or similar events:

  • Scanned passport bio page
  • Recent passport-style photograph
  • Invitation letter from the event organizer
  • Additional clearance or authorization documents, if required, from relevant authorities

File Format & Size Guidelines

To prevent technical issues:

  • Passport scan: PDF or JPEG — maximum 2 MB

  • Photographs: JPEG or PNG — maximum 2 MB each

  • Ensure all files are clear, legible, and in English. Documents uploaded in other languages without translation are likely to be rejected.
